The revolutionary Model 5414 Programmable 5-axis Head attaches to virtually any 3-Axis Vertical, Horizontal or Bridge style Milling Center to provide true simultaneous 5-Axis machining and drilling capability at a fraction of the cost of traditional 5-axis machines.

The M5414 uses the host machine's own spindle drive, which transfers directly to the tool at a ratio of 1:1. This portable head attachment is designed to handle the most complex machining including full 5-axis profiling, contouring, slots and holes. The M5414 includes a holding fixture enabling a quick installation time of less than thirty minutes. The solid steel head attachment weighs nearly 150 pounds and is compact enough to adapt to many small to mid size machines.

Machine tool independence allows users to adapt the M5414 to several CNC machines, which expands a company's 5-Axis capability throughout the shop floor without additional cost. The M5414's tilt range of +/- 90° and continuous 360° rotation capability exceeds all but the most expensive 5-Axis machining centers with no unwinding required. Rapid tool change is provided by a high precision HSK tooling system.

Requirements include any 5-Axis capable CNC controller and a 5-Axis Post Processor available through Tri-Tech Precision Products. To date the head has been adapted  to 40 and 50 taper Vertical, Horizontal and Bridge type machines including Acramatic, Anilam, Dynapath, Fadal, Fagor, Fanuc, Haas, Hurco, Matsura, Milltronics, Mitsubishi, Siemens, YCI, Lucas and Wotan Horizontals, Giddings & Lewis and Mighty Bridge machines, Cincinnati 20V 5-axis profiler, and several PC controlled machines.
